Not so Mellow Yellow

The nice mid-week break for the Fourth of July allowed a painting project to finally get wrapped up.
Taking this armoire from red to yellow was much more time consuming than I had planned for but I am loving the brighter color.
It stands out against our dark grey walls. Now to find some permanent decor for the top and finish up decorating this den wall.
Slowly but surely it is becoming a real room.
The Fourth wasn't just spend painting though.
We saw the new Spiderman movie and Kenny grilled some amazing pizzas.
We kept it low key around here because the next day our little guy had his first (and hopefully last ) surgery.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing Kaleb sleep knows he has quite a snoring problem.
A trip to the doctor revealed those tonsils and adenoids had to go.
He was very brave during the whole process and is recovering very well.
Hope everyone had a lovely Fourth!

Summer time

So summer is here and life is busier than ever.
Between our work, school, and travel schedules Kenny and I have not had an abundance of free time. Kaleb has been keeping just as busy going to various camps and grandparents houses. There has been a little bit of fun despite the packed schedules.

Since the library is within walking distance Kaleb wants to go and pose with the pirate ship on a weekly basis

Kaleb went back to college
We've been squeezing in a couple of house projects so we've spent a few Saturday morning at Ace
Kaleb is fond of the chairs. Updates on the home soon.
Kenny and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.
It was a very fancy affair that consisted of the following

I hope everyone else is enjoying their summer!

Kaleb's Room

Ok out of town family. I have been promising house pictures for 6 months now.
I'll get there but for now I'll start with Kaleb's room.
This is the most complete room in our house and the one we have spent the most time on.
After finally leaving apartment life we wanted him to have his own space that felt like a real home.
Although this space will change a great deal as he is unfortunately getting older we are pretty happy with the progress so far.

Walking into his room....note those awesome hand painted curtains ;)
We spray painted crates and hung them on the wall.
They hold some sports memorabilia and keepsakes
 Some favorites:
Kenny's childhood bunny, Barry Switzer signed football,
World Series ball from my Uncle Jack, and a piggy bank from Nana
Firetruck Kaleb and I painted together when he was 3,
fuzzy little bear AKA Mr. Cutie,
picture of the 3 of us after running the Tulsa Run
The Pottery Barn Kids hook I obsessed after until I finally broke down and paid the $30.
A big wall that I now realize looks pretty empty
On the hunt for a desk for this wall
 Lego building table
We keep most of his clothes in the dresser but "nice" clothes go here
The other side of the closet has his reading nook.
I would like to find a wall mounted bookshelf for this space.
Trying to wrangle those Lego papers
 Current Lego projects
 Love this lamp!
Excited to show off his room
 Corkboard
 Some inspirational quotes
So there we go family. You have now seen Kaleb's room.
